Dalits still oppressed

It was shocking to know that students were asked not to eat meals cooked by a
Dalit woman cook in a primary school of Madhya Pradesh.
This malice of untouchability is indeed a blot on a democratic country like
India. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi untouchability is a sin against God and
man and is, therefore, like a poison slowly eating into the very vitals of
mankind.
No doubt the culprits of this incident are teachers. It is obvious that
students of Primary Schools are like buds. As they are taught so they will
imbibe.
Hence, it is imperative that teachers should teach students lessons on
untouchability, tolerance, and message of humanity and fraternity so that such
trends of untouchability and intolerance may die away and an atmosphere of
peace and amity may come up in the country as a whole.
