RAJAHMUNDRY: Mala Mahanadu activists on Saturday organised rasta rokos and burn effigies of BJP leader LK Advani and Congress leader Meera Kumar for supporting the Madiga’s demand for SC reservation categorisation.
They also demanded that the government should not implement SC reservation categorisation.
In Rajahmundry, the protest was held at the Ambedkar statue near Gokavaram bus stand, while it was held at Tandava Bridge in Tuni.
They expressed anger at Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy giving an assurance to the Madigas on implementation of SC reservation categorisation.
At Kakinada, Mala Mahanadu activists staged a dharna in front of the Ambedkar statue at Indrapalem Junction. Mala Mahanadu district vice-president Pyla Ramakrishna, Mala Employees’ Association secretary PK Raju and others were present.
The Mala Mahanadu activists organised protests at various parts of Konaseema and burnt the effigies of Advani and Meera Kumar.
They submitted to representations to the mandal revenue officers of Mummidivaram, Allavaram, Amalapuram, Mamidikuduru, Ambajipeta and Razole.
Mala Mahanadu Konaseem area convenor P Srinivas and others led the programmes.
