Govt committed towards dalit issues: Oli [ 2006-11-3 ] RSS LALITPUR, Nov. 2: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs K.P. Sharma Oli has said that the new constitution is to be drafted in order to root out inequality and discrimination seen in the society and establish prosperous, equitable and justice prevailing Nepal. Speaking at an interaction programme on 'Dalit Participation in Restructure of State and Constitution' organised by Nepal Rastriya Dalit Samaj Kalyan Sangh here today, he noted that the government and seven party alliance is committed towards issues raised by dalit community. United Nations Charter and the Constitution of Nepal has also declared the system of caste discrimination as illegal, said DPM Oli adding that the rights of all should be ensured in the democracy. Dr. Minendra Rijal of the Nepal Congress (Democratic) noted that the federal structure has been launched with the objective of putting an end to the discrimination from the state. Also speaking at the programme presided over by the Chairman of the Sangh Bhakta Bahadur Bishwokarma were Co-Chairman of the Rastriya Janashakti Party Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, Advocate Dr. Bhimarjun Acharya and Narahari Acharya of NC who shed light on the status of Dalits in the country.
