Politics concerning caste and religion In anicent times, Aryans divided their working population into four sections based on the nature of their work. CJ: sahilkoul , 2 hours ago Views:42 Comments:0 Indiais undoubtedlyamongst one of the most beautiful countries of the world and this feature of the subcontinent initiated many foreign settlements to this land. 'The Aryans' are said to constitute almost 90 per cent of the present Indian population but they themselves are a foreign species on this land. Aryans are said to be descended from central Asia and claim to be one of the most skilled and sound civilizations of the world. In anicent times, Aryans divided their working population into four sections based on the nature of their work. These were Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra but there was no such compulsion at that time to remain grounded to one's own caste. A shudra's son could be a Brahmin or vice versa. But as the the time passed, inter-caste transactions were banned by the upper caste people to establish their supremacy and there was a sharp rise in discrimination. This too was the result of the dirty politics of that time and its consequences are being borne by the present India. To make the conditions worse, we have politicians, who play best with the sentiments of people belonging to lower castes in order to shape up their vote bank. At the time of independence, the conditions of people belonging to lower castes was very much miserable and the constitution imbibed in much needed reservations for people belonging to SCs, STs and OBCs with a note that these reservations be immediately removed once these people come at par with the normal population. But thanks to the caste-politicians, who keep on provoking the people of lower caste to demand more even when most of them have achieved a decent stature in the society. Moving a step up, there are political parties which divide the people on the basis of region and religion. The all time great in this sphere has been Shiv Sena lead by Bal Thakre and now the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or Bajrang Dal. There already exist many political parties and interest groups dividing people on communal lines; so Shiv Sena and MNS came up with a formula of dividing people of the same religion on the basis of language and culture. This sin is what they is doing in the name of Lord Shiva by calling themselves the army of Shiva, 'Shiva Sena'. There can not be any worst disrespect for Lord Shiva than his name being used to play man against man. Maa Lalleshwari, one of the biggest Shaivites and an enlightened speaker in herself speaks in one of her vaakhs: "Shiva chuey thaley thaley rozan mo zan hindu te musalman truk aey chukh pan panun praznav suey chey sahibas sat zanyi zan" No other four liner can better simplify the complications in our mind like this one. "Shiva the prime consciousness resides in the soul of every human being and thus, we should not divide people on the basis of religion or region. Shiva resides both in the heart of Hindu and Muslim. If we want to know the real truth of life, we should first introspect ourselves and this is the best way to attain oneness with the God. If Bal Thakre or Raj Thakre take a day out from their busy schedules and introspect themselves, they will come to know of the sin they are committing by playing a man against another in the name of culture and religion By resorting to violence, these people have overstepped the limitations of being called the representative of a particular group or community. The worst thing is that these people receive full support from the group they claim to be representing. This makes it even more difficult for the authorities to take any harsh legal action against them as it can result in mass upheaval. There was a time when an Indian used to take pride in its diversified cultural existence but now when one thinks of diversity in India, the first thoughts are invaded by communal riots, regionalism, casteism, misleading claims, reservation politics and the opportunist politicians ,who play the fate writers of their respective groups. At the end of the day, there is one thing about which, all of us should think: the highest caste and the truest religion is only 'the humanity' and there are bigger things in life to fight for than just caste or religion. At the end, its not the Hindu, Muslim, Marathi or Punjabi, who suffers the most but it is the common man who has to gamble upon his share of rights in life.
