Dalits to organise a hunger strike Express News Service First Published : 21 Oct 2008 11:28:00 AM IST BANGALORE: Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (KDSS) and Trinity Trust will jointly organise a hunger strike in front of St Antony's Church in Anekal from October 22, demanding the arrest of miscreants who attacked the church recently. State Samiti convenor R Mohanraj told reporters here on Monday that the police had initially tried to pass off the incident as having been caused due to short circuit. "Everyone knows who the culprits are. But no arrests have been made so far. Ten members of the Samiti will participate in the first phase of the strike and we will continue the strike until appropriate action is taken," Mohanraj added. Case against conversion bid Madiwala police on Sunday booked a case against two persons who allegedly tried to convert people to Christianity. This follows a complaint by C Arun Kumar, that two men and two women came to his house when he was discussing the share market with his friend Chandrashekhar, and made an attempt to convert them. The accused used abusive language against Hindu gods and customs, the complainant alleged. They also showed the book 'Satya Darshini,' written by Taraka and others, in which they abused Hindu customs, police said. Madiwala police are investigating. This is the 24th criminal case against conversion to Christianity in the state and the third in Bangalore, after the ones in Frazer Town and Ulsoor.
