Two arrested for tormenting Dalit woman Bhubaneswar, July 11 (IANS) Two men were arrested on charges of tonsuring a Dalit woman and parading her in an Orissa village for allegedly having an extra marital affair with her nephew, police said Saturday. The incident took place in Kashimpur village in Bhadrak district, 150 km from here, July 5 but came to light after her husband lodged a police complaint Thursday when the woman attempted suicide. Inspector Jagmohan Mohanty told IANS that five other culprits were on the run. The villagers allegedly asked the 26-year-old woman to pay Rs.20,000 as fine for her alleged illicit relationship with her 19-year-old nephew. When she refused, she was tonsured and paraded around the village.
