Mayawati launches Mission Cleanse-BSP TNN, Apr 18, 2010, 06.03am IST LUCKNOW: A day after ousting mafia don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari and his brother Afzal from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on charges of involvement in criminal activities, UP chief minister Mayawati on Saturday directed party coordinators to submit a list of leaders with criminal records, who had promised to mend their ways but are indulging in criminal activities, by April 20. These leaders, party sources said, would be shown the door in next one month. The party coordinators have also been asked to suggest names of candidates eligible for Rajya Sabha (RS) tickets. Eleven Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant next month. The decision on the two issues will be taken at the next meeting scheduled on April 30. The BSP leaders said that Behenji's cleansing drive was to show that her party was different from others.
