Dalit women more empowered: Study TNN, Aug 21, 2010, 05.43am IST While caste continues to play an important role in villages, dalit women are more likely to take up local issues than upper caste women, a new study released by TISS revealed. The study cited several success stories of empowered rural dalit women across 11 villages in Maharashtra who took up issues of governance in their villages.
