Quick action on relief cases under SC.ST Atyachar Nivaran Adhiniyam Category ยป Bhopal Posted On Thursday, September 02, 2010 By Our Staff Reporter Bhopal, Sept 2: Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that there should be no delay in giving relief to the victims of cases under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Eradication Act. He said that the district officer should ensure that meeting of the committee constituted in the districts should be held regularly. Kunwar Shah issued these instructions at a review meeting of district officers of Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions held at Satpura Bhavan here on Wednesday. It was informed at the meeting that in Bhopal Division during this year as on end of July Rs 94 lakh 76 thousand were given as relief to victims of 356 cases. Under the provisions of the Act, if head of the family is dead, appointment on compassionate ground is also being done. The Minister instructed the officers to fill up the vacant posts of backlog latest by September 15 without fail. Kunwar Shah told the officers to prepare a calendar of tour and visit the Ashrams and Hostels with night halt. For the sake of personality improvement of hostel inmates, lectures of subject specialists should be arranged regularly. The meeting also discussed about installation of motor pumps at the wells dug under 'Kapildhara' Scheme in the districts of the division. Minister of State for Tribal Welfare Shri Harishankar Khatik stressed the need to make available quality motor pumps to the farmers. Under the scheme 181 diesel pumps were made available to beneficiaries in Bhopal division and 47 diesel pumps to beneficiaries in Narmadapuram division during last year. Information about physical progress of projects being carried out in Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions under section 275 (1) of the Constitution was given at the meeting. The officers were asked to complete the incomplete works of the years 2008-09 and 2009-10 without further delay. Kunwar Shah expressed displeasure over the fact that the district officers are not taking active part in selection of place of construction works. He said that the construction works are being done at such places where the people of reserved category are not fully benefited. The meeting also discussed in detail about the construction works undertaken by the Public Works Department, Housing Board, R I S, and Laghu Udyog Nigam. Principal Secretary (Tribal Welfare) Shri Devraj Birdi has issued strict instructions to the district officers to complete the construction works within the stipulated time. He asked them to inform the directorate the names of the construction agencies which are causing delay to the works.
