Well, to be honest the gap would only decrease if there are enough jobs in the country, that would only be possible if the population is
under control  which in turn depends on education. There are lot of interdependent things which forms a cohesive mesh. Don't know
what would be the best way to solve this puzzle & if our goverment is really doing something about it.
 
But again, how many people are doing anything about it. I am sitting in UK & just giving some fundas to the people (most of whom reside outside India).
 
The gap can only be bridged if every individual work towards it..but how? You would be surprised to know that there are 1000's of job in UK where
people work witout getting paid. These are voluntary jobs and includes people from all fields. Any volunteers in India? Not everyone who does a job in India
doesnt do it for money...so, is (s)he  willing to work without getting paid? I know there are social workers who work for the humanity/country, but whats the percentage?
 
Well, I definitely feel that the Indians abroad also should contribute towards it. But then, I think a majority of them hardly find any time from thinking about
getting their "Green Cards" & PRs. I think 1/10 person goes back to India even after having a chance to stay abroad. Well, I can go on forever with all such stuff
but then there is no end to it. At the end of the day its left to an individual to decide what he wants to contribute towards the growth of its motherland.
 
By the way, atleast 30-40% of the crew on BBC news etc in UK are of Indian origin. Can they or their counterparts in other countries do something?

I agree with Ms Monalisa Bandyopadhaya’s views of increasing economic gap between poor and rich. Still no economist could bring out a path for narrowing the gap.

ur article was terific.its true dat that d western media projects India as the land of under development and poverty but to be frank r we indians doing anything to change dis image.rather we r supplementing dis.most of the Indians on given an oppurtunity fly off to other nations saying that in india self development is difficult and blaming india as a whole.we individuals have the responsibility of making india a g8 nation n putting it on the world map.r we really doing anything in dis direction.

here in india people who are rich become more rich and the poor people become more poor.the economic gap between the rich and the poor is increasing with time.sumthing has to be done b4 it becomes too late.

the politicians of our country arent working towards improving the living standards.

so it is up 2 us to see to dat indis regains its past glory.
