Ram Kamal Mukherjee wins Best Film Journalist Award

Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Principal Correspondent, Mumbai Mirror and author of Hema Malini's biography Diva Unveiled, won the Best Film Journalist Award of 2006 at the Lions International Club recently.
Lions Club International is a well known organization which has been rewarding talents from the field of art, cinema, television, stage and media. This year they completed 12th year of celebrating success. Recently, the organization honored noted film journalist and author Ram Kamal Mukherjee with the Best Film Journalist of 2006 for his contribution in media. Ram Kamal has been working as a film journalist since 2000. He started his career with The Asian Age in Kolkata and later worked in Stardust Film Magazine for two years.
Last year he wrote a biographical book on Bollywood's eternal Dream Girl Hema Malini. Titled as Diva Unveiled, the first edition of the book has been a complete sell out. Published by Magna Books, the book got rave reviews from all over India and abroad. His book on Hema Malini has been recommended in the syllabus of Journalism and Film Studies at the University of Calcutta. Ram Kamal Mukherjee has been tagged as India's Youngest Biography Writer by British Broadcasting Channel. This year he was felicitated with the Best Author Award by the Kalakar Awards in Kolkata for his book on Hema Malini.
Currently working with India's leading publication Mumbai Mirror, Times Of India, as Principle Correspondent, he writes extensively about films and issues related to cinema. His column Ram Katha (every Sunday) is slowly and steadily gaining popularity.
"Success is judged by the amount of hard work you do and not by the number of trophies you get. I am thankful to almighty that I have been showered with such trophies since the time I have joined the industry. But when you are honored with awards, you should accept it, because the trophy symbolizes recognition and love - the two most important aspect to move on in life. I am enjoying my work as a journalist, but I am also looking forward to publish my collections of short stories," says Ram Kamal.
