Pak media speculates on Manmohan Singh visit this month >From correspondents in Islamabad, Pakistan, 07:36 AM IST A section of Pakistani media was agog Thursday with speculation that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh might visit Pakistan this month ahead of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit due to take place in New Delhi next month. A meeting between Indian and Pakistani officials is likely to be held 'in a day or two' as part of back-channel diplomacy to pave the way for Singh's visit, Daily Times said quoting unnamed sources. 'But the Foreign Office has denied this,' it said. 'The National Security Council secretary will meet his Indian counterpart in a day or two in one of the Gulf states for this purpose,' the daily quoted the sources as saying. Speculation is rife ever since President Pervez Musharraf aired his proposals on resolving the Kashmir tangle. The Pakistani media has warmed up each time either of the leaders has made conciliatory, positive remarks about bilateral relations. The latest one comes in the wake of an official level meeting when the two sides agreed to share intelligence information to probe terrorist activity and combat terrorism in the two countries.
