We are pleased to inform you that Centre for Media Studies (CMS) in collaboration with SN School of Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Communication is organizing Asia's premier symposia on Communication for Social Development. CMS Symbols – Symposia on Communication for Social Development, to be held from November 1-3, 2007 at the University of Hyderabad, will be a platform for scholars, practitioners and policy makers from across the globe to discuss, debate and share experiences related to communication for social development. The conference over three days will host plenary sessions, paper presentations, workshops and exhibitions to bring forward various issues related to communication for Social Development like its role in areas like Sustainable Development, Health, Governance, Human Rights and Education. It will also discuss various approaches to development communication along with a discussion on contemporary issues like issues of access, copyright, issues of implementation, evaluation, scale-up, accountability, public-private partnership etc. The conference is being spearheaded by stalwarts like Alfonso Gumucio, Arvind Singhal, N Bhaskara Rao among others. Attending the conference will provide a unique opportunity to share experiences and participate in debate with scholars from across the world.
