22/08/2007 Professionals in developing countries working for NGOs or other civil society groups on media-related issues can apply for a research program at the University of Oxford. Deadline: September 26. Organized by the Oxford Internet Institute, the Civil Society Practitioners program offers two visitors the chance to research the social impact of the Internet and related technology. Possible issues to explore include freedom of expression, media reform and communication policy in the context of the Internet. The visitors will stay at Oxford for six weeks between February and December 2008, with their research, living and travel expense covered. Successful candidates will be notified in November 2007.
