Photography awards to honor works showing humanitarian action

Photojournalists of any nationality can now submit entries for the
12th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award, which
aims to award images related to humanitarian action. Deadline for
submissions: November 5.

The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers who
are dedicated to uncovering themes related to international
cooperation and social exclusion, human rights violations, armed
conflicts, natural disasters, refugee and immigrant populations,
socially excluded groups, etc.

Each participant can submit up to three photographs, which may be in
black and white or color; in TIFF or JPEG format. Only works carried
out between January 2006 and November 2008 and which have not been
submitted to previous editions will be accepted.

Winners will be awarded with first, runners-up and special prizes of
