By Express News Service 05 Mar 2009 08:37:00 AM IST Grand Alliance decides to boycott TV channel HYDERABAD: After making a hue and cry over the investments made in the Sakshi news channel, the Grand Alliance partners have decided to boycott the channel. Leaders of the Grand Alliance partners - TDP, TRS, CPM and CPI - will not give exclusive sound bytes to Sakshi TV and will not participate in the debates organised by the channel. Not knowing the decision, TDP leader R Revanth Reddy participated in a live debate and senior leader U Venkateswarlu and CPM State secretary BV Raghavulu gave exclusive bytes to Sakshi. Immediately, TDP bosses rang up to the leaders and informed them about the alliance’s decision. “All the leaders should stick to this,” a TDP leader said. However, the campaign against Sakshi was only oral one and there was no written communication from the TDP. Sakshi is owned by YS Jagan Monah Reddy, son of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The alliance leaders alleged money laundering by Jagan and routing black money to Sakshi via Mauritius. Now, the latest contention was the Sakshi TV distorting the news on the alliance. ------------------------------------ -- INFORMATION OVERLOAD?
