Dear Monica, I noticed that an article written in the Hindu by Prince Frederick after a reading I did in Chennai contains a number of errors. It's been reposted to the ZEST poets list, so I thought perhaps you could just post this note on the list to clarify that: --Reasons For Belonging is not my collection, but an anthology of fourteen contemporary Indian poets of which I was one. The complete title is, "Reasons For Belonging: Fourteen Contemporary Poets"(Edited by Ranjit Hoskote, Viking Penguin 2002.) --I grew up and went to school in Lusaka, Zambia, not South Africa (I taught in South Africa from 1996-2000); and I definitely don't think that South Africa and Nazi Germany can be so easily compared, as the writer, blithely putting words in my mouth, thinks... --And also please note that there are two Vivek Narayanans who are poets on the net. The young Vivek Narayanan from Chennai who posts to the NDTV site is not me!
