I was expecting resistance to the idea of hypertextual poetry, but I am surprised that it came so quickly and with so much vitriol. You obviously haven�t followed the previous discussions and I am convinced, did not read my post with too much careful attention to details, or even if you did, did not understand the nuances of much of what I said. Certainly, my �pseudo-intellectual blather� is at fault here. I find it remarkable that you have, without actually venturing into the space that I am studying, called a large number of poets (yes, I will call them poets) plagiarists. When you say, �This is not poetry�, I suppose you have some definition of poetry in mind. What is that definition?
I think, I made it clear in my post that poetry on the net does exactly what you seem to be so peeved about; it counters the �facile comprehension and enjoyment� of media like television and in fact, retrieves a lot of space for poetry, which in recent years, had got lost in the rush for other forms of entertainment. However, to tell you the truth, I do not see what can possibly be wrong with �facile comprehension and enjoyment�. Perhaps it is my lowbrow-ness, or my �intellectual laziness� that allows me entry into areas where pompous arbiters of sense and style are stopped at the door. Also, thanks for imparting such precious knowledge like: poetry is a medium that is not limited to the page and that its origins were in the oral tradition. I am sure I did not know that.
