The city song
Corners. Conversations.
Crowds and callings.
and in between,
bare and brazen
the city,
my city.
Of the cities
i live in
three dwell in me;
real, subject and surreal.
Uncut connections
forged documents
bypassing queues;
makes the real city
frail.
Meticulous gaze
methodological haze
hold the /subject/
in its place.
Here,
lost in the numbers of crowds which
people,
people with
temporary attachments & permanent wounds
savings & indebted souls
murder motives
& television sets
make;
old men with white beard and golden wisdom cry with glistening tears in
the middle of the afternoon. children play with the toes. Despairing
eyes ferociously search my soul while strangers touch and profess their
loves.
Surreptitiously suspended
along
the smoked screens
woven by challenged reality,
the surreal city.
Finding corners
in metal clanks
and
torn out letters
wavering between real and surreal;
I break down and
place pieces in a serial.
Hanging lights. Hurried flights.
Slow curls and fast laughs.
embracing with,
fractured arms
shredded nights
cities of cities,
