reminds me of a smart line we loved in college-
in poetry then just a matter of typographical
arrangement?

the desire to leave work is strong to leave work and
( live among the roses) to stop in parks in mid
morning and stare
at hibiscus flowers shoe flowers chinese roses maybe
the last
is the closest name chinese roses that open gently
with a simpler whorl
( to crochet) holding pollen yellow on long stamens
with little alpins
growing out, little round headed pins but softer
deer in early morning in a enclosure when a city is
waking or maybe it is only
i the rest were awake that is why they were walking
with the settled weight of routine perhaps on their
faces
the deer behind the grill had soft antlers rounded
with burr satin
like they had given up the desire to poke with them
someothers had raw wood with sharpened edges
younger older i dont know. we sat by a large pond on
which green moss sung
a spread it was also asleep
in a house a woman we knew had already got ready for
work when we returned
she was leaving soon and looking freshly bathed so i
was alsleep then
i felt the dew off the grass it stung my feet and i
thought i have
felt this after years the wet grass feeling
