Awfully sorry for this rather late entry but I haven't visited this site in a few months and have a few hundred poems to go through. Here's a bit about me.
Names Ashwini Ailawadi. Love reading and writing poetry though I must confess I haven't written one for ages. Am sitting on a few unfinished ones and hopefully this page will inspire me to complete them.
Have knocked around a bit with different lifestyles and professions: copywriter, journalist, trainer, counsellor, aids activism and a couple of others. Am presently associated with an NGO and handle the communication end of it. Have edited a book on incest and a couple of research papers on the subject.
Been mainly influenced by Black American poets--Langston Hughes, Gwendylon Brooks, Leroi Jones, Nikki Giovanni, Maya Angelou and lyricists like Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Bob Dylan.....
Right now my passions are understanding group processes and cooking, especially coastal food, which I, generous soul that I am, inflict on unsuspecting, starving sorts...
