New Delhi, August 20, 2005 Dear Fellow Translators, This is to bring to your kind notice that last year (2004) with the initiative of one of our fellow translators (Ms. Gita Madhu) a Translators Meet was organized on September 11, 2004 in Delhi. This meet was well attended by over 200 translators from all over India and it received a considerable degree of press and media coverage. Keeping in view the success of Translators Meet 2004 a Translators Forum called TRANSLATORS´ INITIATIVE has been constituted that aims at creating a strong network and a vibrant common platform for language professionals for the promotion and exchange of ideas in language related fields with the ultimate aim of establishing an INDIAN TRANSLATORS ASSOCIATION. It has been proposed to organize INDIAN TRANSLATORS MEET 2005 on September 17th , 2005 ( 0900 Hrs -1800 Hrs). Indian Language Translations The Conference will be attended by more than 500 linguistic professionals in Indian and Foreign languages, from all over India. Participants will automatically form part of one of the largest networks of Translators in India, as their names and details will be registered in the Directory of Translators to be published immediately after the meet and circulated all over India amongst the business community, government bodies, trade associations, UN and International agencies.
