My Quandary.

Estranged are our lives of love
Hamstrung by the vagaries of the mind
Where honesty doth feign in its mindless spree
Was there a drop of bliss one could find?

Lonely, still lonely, amidst a senseless crowd
Defeaning grew the silence every moment
Hanging on to a bunch of forlorn dreams
My lacerated soul -- none of which could foment.

Where odes were sung in your praise my Lord
By earthlings with their rainbow hopes
I've witnessed the slaughter of a thousand rights
Where Satan reigns and justice elopes.

Leading us all to the primrose path
The prince of darkness reigns every soul
Your soul, my soul, a utopian netherworld
Could my verdant hopes change mankind's dole?

I wander -- a spirit in the moonlit night
When all gets quiet but the angry sea
Wrapped up in thoughts, engulfed in pensiveness
When the world's deaf to my silent plea.

I thought I'd progress, change the world
My verlig mission -- rekindling faith
Alas! I've moved and I've progressed
But only a step closer to death.
