i was sending this poem to a friend and happened to re
read your piece which i liked for its anger!

I learned…
I learned to live simply and wisely,
to look to the heavens and pray to God,
to take longwalks in the evening
to calm unwarranted anxiety.
When burdock rustles in the ravine and
yellow-red mountain ash bow in the breeze,
I compose cheerful verses
about life - mortal, mortal and wondrous.
Back at home.
The cat licks my palm,
purring affectionately.
A flare flashes in the tower
of the saw mill on the lake.
Only rarely the silence is pierced
by the shriek of a stork landing on the roof,
and if you should walk through my door,
I suspect I wouldn’t hear you.
