Dear All,Finally! The ZUBAAN website is up and running. It is a pleasure to announce the launch of the website. We propose to have additional features like author bios; micro-sites, and we are launching it with Kunzang Choden's micro-site; a Zubaan book club (with a discussion forum); a news and events page and a Projects page to keep you informed like Poster Women. We certainly hope to have a links page up as well.
We could not have possibly done this without our brilliant website designer, Abhay Adhikari and his programmer Anand Suresh. Also, Abhay helped facilitate a first for an Indian publishing firm, in that we are being able to offer an audio clip from one of our books The Circle of Karma on the author's micro-site. It is a first in another way, as it entailed a global combination of talents of the British singer, Caroline Lavelle, the Dutch designer, Coos and the Indian website designer, Abhay Adhikari for an Indian publishing firm. We are all very excited about the project. If it is successful, we certainly hope to be able to offer many more audio clips.
The Zubaan newsletter is an ambitious task, especially as we'd like to make it a regular effort at keeping everyone informed about Zubaan activities. These do at times extend beyond the publishing programme!
We hope to use the newsletter for disseminating information and news about publications, authors, literary events, debates, seminars, conferences, projects, exhibitions, or even just letters and comments from our readers within India and abroad. The only criterion being that these should have a gendered focus.
For the moment, we intend to make this newsletter a monthly, but we are open to revising this schedule. Please do send us announcements, articles, news, views and comments that you may want to share with the extended Zubaan family!
