Sivakami -
It is raining so hard outside, so hard that I feel my heart will
break; the newspapers report that the dams are near full and nobody
knows how to contain the water; and your verse evokes another land,
always, always that other place; you know long ago I heard a song on
Sofia Loren, and the first line ran thus - "where do you go to, my
lovely when you're alone in your bed, what are the parts that
surround you inside your head..." So what is the name of this
landscape that you paint? The same city we walk in seems to take
another shape beneath your pen, and I know the rain will have turned
into another sort of rain, tomorrow, when you write again...
