Is there any chance of an ETA for encryption being generally available with ZFS? I understand it's early stages so I should point out that I don't mind if the dates are really vague, or even if you miss them completely :-) (programming deadlines are overrated, give me working code any day).
We're considering using ZFS for off-site backups, with a project due to go live around June 2008 and, if it's available, encryption would be a huge benefit. If we can get even a hint of whether encryption is likely to be supported in that timeframe it would be a great help. cheers, Ross This message posted from opensolaris.org
