For the boot drive you'll want to read the product notes document also
since there are some special
instructions that may need to be followed.

That document also covers some patches that are required so you should
read the whole thing.
The details on using RAID for the boot drive start on page 31 of chapter 3.
There are also some useful documents on sunsolve.sun.com that a quick
