Hello, it seems that while designing the ZFS-Quota and bringing functionality into it which was not included in the traditional ufs user quota, some of its functionality is missing. In the FAQ is stated: "Per-user quotas were introduced because multiple users had to share the same file system." From the point of view of practically administering huge inhomogeneous lab pools with nearly 3000 users I would prefer to say: "Per-user quotas were introduced because multiple users WANT and HAVE to share the same file system." Since I don't see any possibility for the administration side and willingness from engeneering side to implement this functionality in ZFS, this seems to be a knock out criteria even for the future.
