Welcome Steve, I think you'll find that we rehash this about every quarter with an extra kicker just before school starts in the fall. Changing the topic slightly, the strategic question is: why are you providing disk space to students? When you solve this problem, the quota problem is moot. NB. I managed a large University network for several years, and am fully aware of the costs involved.
