But with ZFS, the layout is a simple matter of creating filesystems, not
slicing up drives.  The filesystems are in a shared pool, so one doesn't
have to know how big a particular slice will grow.

Once we can break out more datasets, the wheel will have turned full
circle and we will be able to assign different properties to individual
"slices", such as read only /usr.
