Just a quick note for the benefit of the list, the hot swap problems Tim is
talking about were the ones with the Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8 card, and this
card is working perfectly now for me in OpenSolaris 2008.11 and 2009.06.
There was no note of the bug being fixed, but one of the marvell driver
updates must have quietly resolved this.

Does anybody know if OpenSolaris will support this new Supermicro card,
based on the Marvell 88SE6480 chipset? It's a true PCI Express 8 port
JBOD SAS/SATA controller with pricing apparently around $125.
If it works with OpenSolaris it sounds pretty much perfect.
Normally I'd just buy it and tell you, but the previous supermicro
chipsets and all of their issues has left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm
not going to buy something just to throw it in the garbage (if it can't
handle hot swap it'd go right into the garbage vs. being re-used).
