"Data on the pool are unaffected." Data is plural.
Aside from grammar police work, I also agree that this is a better error
message to present to the user.
(If we're going to change it, I'd appreciate the new version being one
that doesn't have a detrimental effect on my dental work due to teeth
grinding... ;-)
