We anticipate that the zpool split feature will be available
in an upcoming Solaris 10 release.
Regarding the break mirror and import option, let me get back
to you. I think we might have a bug in the current behavior.

By the way, having zpool with mirroring, I'll try to follow the first
part of Mark blog to have a second option (broke the mirror and attach
to different server where there is a backup environment and then
rebuild the mirror).
