Why?
Human factors. People usually go to work once per day so it makes
sense that they should be able to perform at least once maintenance
action per day. Ideally the resilver should complete within an 8-hour
work day so that a maintenance action can be performed in the morning,
and another in the evening.
Computers should be there to serve the attendant humans, not the other
way around. :-)
