I'm of the opinion that that's a nice hack that Oracle won't object to, right up until some other project decides to try and use it. IANAL, don't work for Oracle, never worked for Sun, and have no financial interest in the outcome, and that's nothing but a wild guess, but I'd love someone to take the codebase and produce something commercial with it.
