Internal Job Description:


  Minimum 5-10 years experience in the role of Test / Quality Manager, or 
related technical project management role. 


·          Proficient in implementing SQA / testing programs (practices, 
processes, infrastructure, tools & metrics) for high visibility projects.

·          Experience testing applications across mainframe, mid-range, 
client-server and web-based environments.  Includes Unit, Integration, System 
and Acceptance testing.

·          Domain experience in Retail, Payment or Financial service highly 

·          Strong understanding of the Defect Management process, and 
corresponding defect tracking & test case management tools.

·          Experienced with independent Verification & Validation processes.

·          Working knowledge of automated testing tools from Mercury 
Interactive, Segue or Rational.

·          Experienced with project management and software development 
lifecycles and methodologies.

·          Working knowledge of risk-based testing.

·          Working knowledge of software process improvement industry standards 
such as CMMI, Six Sigma and/or ISO.

·          Strong understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, 
and delivery methodologies.

·          Ability to build constructive business relationships with business 
stakeholders and gain their trust.

·          Flexibility to work collaboratively within a matrix, 'virtual' 

·          Technical knowledge of: RUP, MS Project, Visio, MS Office, 

·          Strong understanding between Black Box and White Box testing and 

·          Must have a strong passion about the value that testing and quality 
assurance brings to an organization.

·          Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts 
across workgroups.

·          Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and within tight 
project deadlines.

·          Comfortable working in a dynamic and complex IT environment.

·          Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

·          Excellent communications skills (written and oral), and problem 
solving skills.

·          Ability to make critical and successful decisions under pressure.

·          Self-confident; capable of commanding authority and respect at all 


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


·          Coordinates and accountable for all test related activities for key 
business projects.

·          Evaluates the strategies, objectives, motivators and 
deliverables/artifacts required for a project's testing effort.

·          Plans and schedules the most effective use of people and equipment 
resources, testing environments and tools to facilitate testing.

·          Prepares comprehensive test plans and test cases for functional, 
regression and performance/load testing of projects.

·          Drives or performs design and development of automated test scripts 
using a functional and regression test tool.  Understands the benefits and 
trade-offs of what & when to automate testing, and the value of re-usability.

·          Works on multiple, simultaneous project initiatives of which he/ she 
will apply applicable business and technical acumen.

·          Generates test reports including results of project testing, quality 
and recommendations concerning a project's deployment.

·          Actively participates in testing and other quality assurance process 

·          Prepares and tracks schedule and budgets associated with project 
testing efforts.

·          Provides daily direction to testing-related project team members.

·          Acts as a role model by providing leadership and mentoring to other 
testing resources.

·          Identifies testing-related project risks and issues.

·          Requires approximately 10% travel depending upon project specifics 
and business locations.

·          Makes sound decisions based on incomplete information, under 
pressure and maintains project focus.
