*The University seeks an experienced technical consultant to assist with an
upgrade from PeopleSoft (PS) Student Administration System v8.9 to
PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Release 9.0. This consultant will oversee,
advise and assist the UWP Development Staff with the technical preparation,
testing and implementation of the upgrade.  UWP is currently running
PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 8.9 on PeopleTools 8.46.   UWP is currently on
an Oracle database Windows version   Thus, UWP needs technical
assistance to upgrade to PeopleTools 8.49 (at a patch level to be determined
by the UWP upgrade team), Campus Solutions 9.0 ( at a patch level that will
include all the needed regulatory releases for FA at go-live), and Oracle

*Specific tasks for the consultants:

*1) Review the current project plan and make recommendations on patch levels
and the feasibility of the schedule.   *

*2) Create a PeopleSoft v9.0 demo instance that will be at the same patch
level as the production instance. *

*3) Setup the servers with Oracle and PeopleTools 8.49.*

*4) Upgrade a test database.*

*5) Perform the first test move to production.*

*6) Analyze the upgrade assistant scripts and troubleshoot issues.*

*7) Identify customizations to be handled by UWP staff.*

*8) Assist in at least one test additional test move to production to
familiarize the UWP staff.*

*9) Assist in performance testing and tuning of the PeopleSoft v9.0

*10) Create detailed step-by-step documentation of the go-live processes.*

*11) Assist in the final move to production.*

*12) Troubleshoot production issues after the go-live.*


*Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains organization's
database[s]. Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition
diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process. Writes
codes for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored
procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least
4-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates
expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects
and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree
of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or
head of a unit/department. Experience with PeopleSoft data is required.*
