*Job Function Description – Telephony Design Engineer*

The candidate must have significant design experience (5+ years) in large,
Enterprise telecommunications and Call Center environments—largely VoIP, but
also including legacy TDM. The candidate will primarily be responsible for
the functional and non-functional requirements gathering and analysis and
telecommunications system design for Corporate Real Estate transactions
involving office openings, closings, consolidations and re-locations. While
a large portion of the distributed Enterprise is served from centralized
(virtualized) core telephony platforms and adjunct applications, a fair
amount of stand-alone systems still remain in the environment. The candidate
must be capable of gathering and assessing business and technical
requirements/constraints to making appropriate design recommendations
utilizing defined Hosting Services technologies and architectural models.
Most significantly, the candidate must possess superior skills with respect
to the analysis of system capacities (hardware, software and
traffic/Trucking) to ensure appropriate environment sizing and scalability.

As Real Estate transactions involve the entire office technology
environment, moderate understanding of LAN and WAN technologies and products
is a significant plus.

Candidate will be capable of applying analytical evaluative and design
techniques systematically so that the solution will be able to be
implemented according to hosting work flows, organizational constructs,
standards and planning management. Ensures capacity exists in the hosting
realm to house this design and details capacity actions when capacity does
not exist.
