Job Title    : LAN Administrator
Location    : Sacramento, CA
Duration    : 6 Months

*Microsoft Certified System Engineer for Windows 2000 or 2003.*

As a Desktop and LAN Administrator, the consultant will provide support for
desktops, laptops, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), printers, scanners,
file and print services, and management of Active Directory Organization
Units. The position requires knowledge and abilities in Systems Management
Server (SMS), User Manager Pro, Symantec AntiVirus (SAV), desktop
management, asset management, patch deployment, Windows 2000/2003/XP
Operating Systems, and Active Directory.  The consultant will be engaged in
the administration of PDAs, BlackBerrys, satellite phones, full disk and
removable storage device encryption for desktops and laptops. The consultant
must possess high level knowledge and skills in the areas of software
installation, software program scripting, maintenance, backup and recovery,
security, and on-line monitoring of all types of desktops within the complex
JEOC, Backup JEOC, the Richmond Campus Coordination Center (RCCC), and
enterprise network. These activities require the individual to analyze data,
issues and situations; provide sound deductive reasoning; identify problems
and develop sound effective solutions. In the event of a health emergency or
disaster affecting the State of California, the individual will implement a
base of operations for the EPO including a mobile wireless LAN, audio/video
station(s), communications center and other necessary services.  The
consultant is required to carry a BlackBerry/cell phone on a 24/7/365 basis
and be reachable and available after business hours, including holidays and
weekends. Some travel may be required.

Required Skills/Experience
The consultant must have in-depth practical experience in the following:
Desktop administration and support for Windows 2000/2003/XP desktop and
laptop computers;
Administration of Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Servers;
Emergency response IT solutions and operations;
Microsoft Windows Active Directory (AD) administration and tools;
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills;
Video-conferencing installation and troubleshooting;
Citrix client support;
Excellent customer service and follow-through on assignments and Remedy
Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience
The Consultant possesses practical experience in the following:
Desktop management tools such as SMS, Symantec Anti Virus, Active Directory
(AD) Administrative tools, User Manager Pro, and Terminal services emulation
Deployment of operations base for emergency or disaster response operations;
PC Guardian Encryption Plus Hard Disk software version 7.0 or newer;
Personal productive software such as MS Office, Project and Visio;
Remedy Help Desk software;
Blackberry technology deployment, administration and support;
HP and Dell server hardware configuration;
The Consultant possesses the following certifications:
Microsoft Certified System Engineer for Windows 2000 or 2003.
