AS/400 Level 2 Contractor Skill Set
1) Information Security Skills
a) Responsible for maintaining the security frameworks for the AS400
systems
b) Responsible for system security planning, developing, and implementing
security policies
c) Ensures successful implementation and maintenance of the defined
standards
d) Ensures compliance of IT Security Policies
e) Provides support in security management and security architect
standards and documentations
f) Provides technical support and consultation for enhancement of and
change to security configuration
g) Evaluates information systems security risks
h) Conducts analysis/troubleshooting of all information security related
issues, proactively assesses risks and implements solutions.
2) Templating or Role Based Security
a) Creation, Modification, Deletion of User Profiles
b) Enable/Disable of Profiles
c) Reset of User Passwords
d) System Directory Entries
e) Setting of User & Object Auditing
3) Basic Security Administration Skills using i5/OS commands
w/ v5r3 & v5R4:
a) Templating or Role Based Security
b) Creation, Modification, Deletion of User Profiles
c) Enable/Disable of Profiles
d) Reset of User Passwords
e) System Directory Entries
f) Setting of User & Object Auditing
g) Setting of Object Security including authorization lists, object
ownership using least privilege.
h) Familiar with all Security System Values, and their setup
4) Intermediate Security Administration Skills
a) Ability to determine security events via Security Audit Journal
(QAUDJRN)
b) Ability to create queries using Query/400
c) iSeries Navigator experience
5) Other Required Hard Skills
a) Familiar with ROBOT Scheduler to verify job setup
b) Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of NetIQ Pentasafe Secure, Audit,
etc.
c) Basic System Administration knowledge - Work Management
6) Other Skills nice to have
a) Familiar with WebSphere MQ Security
b) Connect:Direct Secure+
c) CISSP or CISA certifications
7) Soft Skills Required
a) Excellent oral and written communication skills
b) Ability to communicate with Information Technology System
Administrators, Operators, Schedulers, as well as basic end users.
c) Ability to document security technology and business practices
