This position is for an individual that has significant required
qualifications and talent in the following areas: People management
(effectively interact with anyone and everyone) Work within a team as a
leader, work within a team as a peer, work as an individual Self motivated
with goals from management as well as self established goals. Proven track
record at managing Network Infrastructure shared services. The candidate
should be able to work on their own, with peers and / or customers to
document a design to properly present in a fashion that creates a good
business case leading our customers and us to a successful implementation.
Hands on IT Infrastructure (conceptualize, design, sell to management /
customers, acquire, implement and support for all aspects of Infrastructure
with the key focus having experience in LAN, WAN, Firewall, Concentrator,
Accelerators, load balancers, and Virtualization ex: Firewall / VRF) The
position requires significant knowledge in all aspects of Network
Infrastructure Shared Services. Ex: Being able to effectively function in
chassis that has multi VRF / customers in overlapping shared chassis. Ex:
Monitoring tools Ex: Tivoli, HP Open view, Ciscoworks etc Best Practices,
vendor management We are primarily a Cisco shop with various supporting
appliances. F5, Packetear, Riverbed etc… The candidate should be able to
display their capabilities at relocating data centers. *Requires CCNP,
preferred CCIE Other industry certifications helpful*.
*** Interaction: The successful candidate should have excellent
communication skills and the ability to function well in a team environment.
This position requires the ability to understand customer business processes
and provide hardware solutions to meet business requirements. Also requires
interaction with multiple teams and resources within the Kansas City Service
Center and throughout the organization.
*** Complexity/Problem Solving:
The successful candidate should have strong analytical and problem solving
skills. This position requires candidate to analyze complex performance
issues, researching vendor bugs and defects and apply to resolve problems.
The candidate will also be required to extrapolate specific requirements
from general vendor guidelines and instructions to create customized
solutions for our clients.
