Hi, How are you doing today? This is for my direct client opening for a Senior UNIX Administrator - Marlborough, MA. This is a 3 to 6 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is $45-50/hour. This candidate will be responsible for supporting both development and production UNIX hardware and software platforms. This includes administration support for system adds/moves/changes, the addition and deletion of users, machine builds and installs, business application management, file system and volume creation, hardware and OS additions and changes. The individual selected will further enhance and develop UNIX Operating Systems documentation and training. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and extremely capable of communicating effectively with co-workers on both the technical and non-technical levels. *Job Requirements: *3+ years of implementing and administering UNIX based systems with a focus on Solaris Working knowledge and experience with domain based SUN and/or Fujitsu hardware, including an understanding of domains and fail-over of resources between domains is a necessity Hands-on knowledge and understanding of hardware configuration is a must Hands-on knowledge of SAMBA, SENDMAIL, SSH and scripting mechanisms using Perl and Shell is important Hands-on experience with VERITAS File System and Volume Manager software is a necessity Clustering & High-availability design and implementation experience with VERITAS Cluster Server or equivalent is important Hands-on experience with the design and implementation of backup and recovery mechanisms is a must. Commvault experience is a plus Ability to multi-task several mission critical tasks and projects with little supervision Experience with high-end storage devices and platforms: EMC Symmetrix and EMC Clariion, SRDF, and TimeFinder are a plus Experience with BMC Patrol, Perform and Predict is preferred.
