I have the following immediate need:
Lead Performance tester
6+ motnths
This position reports to the Product Quality group. You will be responsible for working closely with the business product owners to understand load/performance requirements and advise on testing assumptions. Will work closely with the agile development teams to design, build and deliver load/performance/longevity testing in non-production environments and testing solutions.
Will be the load/performance testing technical expert on a project/release team; responsible for the technical success of stress testing for a project or group of projects. Heavily involved in mentoring Scrum teams on load/performance/longevity testing design and coding best practices, commercial and open source tools, and reuse opportunities. Works to research new technology and testing approaches and create best practices around them. Advises on optimal work breakdown to allow releases and projects to take advantage of reuse, standard frameworks, and templates.
Provides assistance with, and review of, the project(s) team's load/performance/longevity test plans and test cases to ensure early and appropriate load testing is done. Works with project Technical Leads to identify critical/new components for early performance profiling or load testing. Creates, socializes and mentors the use of load/performance/longevity testing best practices and standards.
Will have experience with LoadRunner AND Open Source tools for software load/performance/longevity testing, Portal technologies, particularly WebSphere Portal, and Java.
This is a very hands-on Technical position. The ideal candidate will be very proactive and self-directed and be equally comfortable developing test scripts as presenting technical concepts and testing designs to senior leaders in the group. She/he will take initiative in solving complex technical problems in areas which may be outside their technical expertise and coming up with original solutions and design approaches to new project requirements.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Some infrequent travel may be required to SCAL.
