Provide technical assistance to the Client in performing data migration for
migrating existing Oracle databases to new Oracle production servers. This
will involve reviewing and utilizing CLIENT’s existing Oracle database
schemas, making necessary adaptations and modifications to support the data
migration to new Oracle database servers. This also involves the evaluation
of existing Oracle environments and making recommendations for accurate
conversion to the current Oracle Enterprise Database 9iv2 or 10g and Oracle
applications server 9iAs,10g versions. All data migration efforts must
conform to the Water Boards enterprise framework. CLIENT/DIT is planning
data migration efforts from Web based applications in an effort to
consolidate Oracle Servers and reduce the overhead with maintaining and
supporting individual hardware platforms.

*TASKS AND DELIVERABLES*
The contractor will work with CLIENT/OIT staff in performing data migration
processes and optimizing data migration and integration efforts. It will
focus on reviewing existing database schemas, ensure appropriate security
access levels are implemented at the database and application levels, and
making recommendations for optimizing database and application performance.
This also includes developing a data migration plan for migrating data from
existing disparate databases to new Oracle servers. Tasks for the contract
include, but are not limited to:
· Analyzing and evaluating the data conversion and migration
requirements and comparing these requirements to current and proposed
database schemas and designs, using Oracle products.
· Assisting the CLIENT/DIT technical staff in defining and documenting
the scope of the data conversion and migration process efforts once the
analysis and evaluation phase has been completed.
· Developing the Data Migration Plan in accordance with the CLIENT DIT
· Performing quality assurance services on data migration tasks as
identified in this statement of work and as finalized in the Data Migration
· Developing a design strategy, the necessary SQL scripts or modules,
and test procedures to migrate data to meet all defined business
· Assisting the CLIENT/DIT technical staff in implementing the Data
· Providing knowledge transfer to CLIENT/OIT Oracle database and
application administrators on use and understanding of Oracle products used
to ensure successful data migration efforts.
· Facilitating sessions and preparing informational materials on data
migration processes, quality assurance requirements, and security measures
in meetings with CLIENT/DIT Oracle database and application administrators
and program staff.
Tasks have to be performed in close coordination with CLIENT/DIT technical
