Unix System Administration 1

Rate:- $35/hr AL
This position will support the client transition, transformation, and run. This includes install, monitor and maintain UNIX servers - Mainly AIX and Vmware. This position will also participate in the maintenance of UNIX based backup and recovery systems and participate in the implementation, and ongoing administration of multiple SAN architectures such as IBM and EMC The successful candidate will also participate in the testing, and maintenance of High Availability ( HACMP) server fail-over configurations.
This position will participate in a 24x7 support and require some off hour and weekend work. The successful candidate will also need to have excellent written and oral coomunication skills in the English language.
Specialized/Practical Knowledge:
The successful candidate will need 3-4 years experience in UNIX server administration with an emphasis in AIX and Vmware .
Experience supporting client/server based ERP solutions.
Strong technical (e.g. systems design) and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex technical information.
Knowledge of networking, primarily TCP/IP and Storage networking.
Experience with system clustering products particullarly HACMP. Knowledge of shell scripting .
Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience developing and maintaining technical procedures and documentation.

Interaction: The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and the ability to function well in a team environment. This position requires the ability to understand customer business processes and provide hardware solutions to meet business requirements. Also requires interaction with multiple teams and resources within the Kansas City service center and throughout the Capgemini organization.
Complexity/Problem Solving: The successful candidate should have strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires candidate to analyze complex performance issues, researching vendor patches and tuning guide. The candidate will also be required to extrapolate specific requirements from general vendor guidelines and instructions to create customized solutions for our clients
