I have following immediate need:Sr. Swing Developer for a client in San Mateo. This is a 6 month + contract for a UI Developer.
CANDIDATE SHOULD BE LOCAL TO BAY AREA.
NO J2EE CANDIDATES. THE MANAGER IS LOOKING FOR CORE JAVA/SWING CANDIDATES.
Job Description:
Develop instrument control and data analysis software programs for our clients Sequencing Instrument Systems. You will work within a team environment and the successful candidate will be responsible for design and implementation of functionality based on user stories and design specifications. He/she will also be responsible for engineering testing as well as documentation of the functionality created.

Extensive Swing knowledge & experience
Skills Needed:
Computer science degree or equivalent
A minimum of 5+ years object-oriented development experience
At least 5+ years GUI development experience using Swing and/or SWT
Hands-on experience with 5+ years Java programming is essential
Experience of creating GUI specifications
Knowledge of iterative software development techniques
Knowledge of common design patterns
Able to read and write UML
Able to communicate effectively
Plus:
Experience/knowledge of component framework
Experience of Eclipse and/or Netbeans plugins
Degree or training in molecular biology
