Looks like you have the XDG_DATA_HOME environment parameter configured wrong. This should point to a writable folder, by default "~/.local/share" - but in your case it seems to point to "/sw/share" which is not writable.
You can check by typing "echo $XDG_DATA_HOME" in the xterm.
