When I have time I'll test running Zim from source within my "portable python" environment and report back here, but just in case it's just slipped through the cracks, it seems that the Windows download section needs to be updated to the latest release.
In case those responsible are fully aware and just haven't got a round tuit yet, my apologies for pestering.
