I have thought that if several millions of righteous people were to become Democrats, we could change its platform radically, returning it back to its more conservative roots of the 1950s. I'd love to see it back away from its liberal raunch, and back to being a party of character (rather than a party of characters).
BTW, I saw Arnold Schwarzaneggar on a talk show this morning (or was it yesterday? Being out of work has killed my internal clock). Anyway, he was discussing possible future political aspirations and his ties to the Kennedy clan. He is a Republican, but married to Maria Shriver, a Kennedy cousin. He told the interviewer that he promised when he got married that it was "in sickness and in health." Arnold said that being a Democrat is a sickness his wife has, and so he has to support her through this illness....
